It was a Tarmac® drive installation work for a customer in Plymstock, which is a suburb of the city of Plymouth in Devon.
The client had an existing Tarmac® drive which was in poor condition and was 85m².
We used a mini digger to remove the existing top layer which took us one day.
Once the old surface was removed, we also used a 20mm hardcore machine and a compactor along with a roller to ensure the solidity of the surface. We created a strong surface to lay the new Tarmac® by using a 10mm hard stone Tarmac® with an average depth of 60-70 mm.
We finished off the edges using kerb stones. These are head-wearing and very stable and provide a high-quality finish to your drive.

This is a new Tarmac® driveway that we did for a client in Plymstock.
The client had an existing concrete drive, which needed to be removed and extended. This was replaced with a new Tarmac® drive.
We removed the existing driveway and extended the driveway by cutting back the lawn. We doug footings for and built small retaining wall, this area was then landscaped.
To prepare the surface of the new Tarmac® drive we put a new hardcore base, this was then levelled and then compacted. We then used a base coat 50-60mm of tarmac, this was then finished with a top coat of 30-40mm and compact the Tarmac®.
We also finished of the driveway with new edging kerbs and brick paving which are very durable and Finnish the driveway to a high standard.
