It was a Tarmac® drive replacement job for a resident in Dartmouth.
The client had an existing Tarmac® drive. It was in poor condition, we had to remove it and level the area. As you can see in the pictures it was a reasonably long drive, typical of many drives in Devon. It was 35m².
They used it to access their property and garage. The client also used it to park their vehicles.
So, we used a mini digger to remove the existing drive. It was tight in places, we also removed material by hand, which took us 2 days
Once the old surface was removed, we used an 803 type 1 that gives a durable base. We then used a compactor and a roller to make sure the surface was solid. We also ensure to have a stable and strong surface for laying the new Tarmac® using a 10mm hard stone average depth of 50-60mm and compact.
We finished off the edges using bricks as they are a great way to break up the space and look aesthetic as well. Our Tarmac® driveways are hard-wearing and very stable whilst providing you with a high-quality finish.
